Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge.
Audience: Open to the public, aged 18 or older
Special Instructions: Must be present all 8 hours to be certified
This course has a cost/value of $85 each and has been fully funded for all participants by the State of Alaska Department of Education & Early Development through the federal project A.W.A.R.E. (Advancing Wellness and Resilience in Education) through September 30, 2019.
