Description

This training is designed for the new play therapist in agency, private practice, and school settings who is interested in learning more about play therapy interventions and techniques. We will cover the basic rationale, philosophy, history, and introduce participants to various play therapy theories. Participants will be introduced to basic non-direct play therapy interventions.

  1. Discuss the history of both directive and non-directive play therapy theories

  2. Explain what play therapy is and how research supports it

  3. Gain skills to set up a playroom

  4. Utilize non-directive interventions in the playroom
