Interpersonal relationships, intimacy, and sexuality are important parts of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. However, knowing how to support individuals in these areas can be challenging for direct support professionals. In this session, attendees will explore and discuss strategies for supporting a person's interpersonal and sexual rights, health, and well-being.
This training is intended to assist DSPs and others who support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and share ideas with other participants. The presenters, Sondra LeClair and Kelley Hartlieb, also serve as coordinators of the Friendships & Dating Program at UAA Center for Human Development.
