This activity is being jointly provided by the Alaska Nurses Association and the Alaska Training Cooperative. The AaNA is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by Montana Nurses Association, and accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.


Foundational information on traditional lifestyles and health practices of people living in Alaska prior to western contact. Introduction to beliefs, attitudes, and knowledge of health promotion and maintenance practiced, and examination of major changes leading to the current health status of the Alaska Native community. Special emphasis is placed on strategies for improving behavioral health.

This training is being offered through zoom only - there is no in-person site available.

All participants are encouraged to access the CHD-AKTC e-Learning Portal,, in order to review training materials and access the Zoom link prior to the training. The e-Learning Portal is only available after completing your registration and payment. After the training, use the e-Learning Portal to complete the training evaluation - required for Continuing Education Credits. Log in with the same username (username or email address) and password used to register for the training. Please allow 15 minutes for the system to update payment information before accessing the e-Learning Portal.

Web-Conference Information. This training will be delivered as a live, interactive web-conference using Zoom. You must prepare for the webinar prior to the day of the training.
