Training Overview Description

This CE workshop is unlike any other trafficking workshop and will be a unique experience for all who participate. Providing meaningful support for victims recovering from trafficking is absolutely critical and there are many quality programs across the United States doing just that. However, there is a gaping hole in recovery services for the consumers of the sex trade. This workshop takes a deeper look at the role consumers (sex addicts) play in continuing to give life to this devastating trend and explores healing and recovery options for everyone involved.

Join us to hear personal stories from both victims and consumers of the sex trade & human trafficking epidemic.

LISTEN TO THIS TESTIMONY FROM AN INDUSTRY EXPERT:
Stephanie Staveland, LCSW says, "I should have kept track all these years, but I have been doing education/prevention lectures since 2013...I imagine I've done close to 50 of them over the last 5 years. In those 5 years I have NEVER been blessed with such a teaching opportunity. Today, I got to teach with two amazing people, about not only the issue of sex-trafficking but also got to address the demand side, the consumer, and how they got to such a place. I got to be a part of an amazing teaching that openly discusses the toxic role pornography plays in all of this. We got to share stories, hear personal testimonies and let me tell you, this was the MOST powerful training I have ever been to on the issue of trafficking. For those of you who missed out, I am fairly confident we will be providing this series several more times. Even if you've heard my lecture on "what is sex trafficking & how does it look in Alaska" I beg you to come listen again because what has been missing all along in my lectures is the demand side, the consumerism, and the role of pornography. POWERFUL STUFF PEOPLE!!"
