Clients who are exposed to infected blood are at high risk for contracting HIV. HIV is a chronic illness in need of lifelong treatment engagement. This section of the webinar will define key terms used when discussing HIV and AIDS and disease transmission. The primary actions of current medications will be explained. Questions will be provided that can help the clinician assess risk. Cultural implications of engagement and treatment will be explored. Current testing procedures will be explored.
