Patty McCarthy, M.S., Chief Executive Officer of Faces & Voices of Recovery

Training Overview Description

This training provides individuals with a better understanding the science behind addiction and recovery. The facts about how substances dramatically affect the brain are a key component in helping the public understand the recovery process. We'll also look at SAMHSA's 6 prevention strategies and how they intersect with the work of recovery community organizations including information dissemination, community education, alternative activities and substance-free recreation, problem I.D. and referral, community-based processes and environmental strategies.
