Training Overview Description

Assistive Technology (AT) can increase the quality of life for Alaskans who experience barriers to their independence. AT is a rapidly growing area used by people with disabilities and individuals who want to stay in their communities and remain independent. Together, we will explore tech, tools, and gadgets from no or low-tech to the highest-tech options.

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Understand “Assistive Technology,” through terminology and hands-on exploration.
  • Describe how assistive technology can enhance independence and support caregivers.
  • Utilize TechAbility, a new program for Trust Beneficiaries.
