Training Overview Description

Alaska faces numerous challenges inherent in human trafficking, labor exploitation, indentured servitude, and other forms of serious human rights violations. Many child and human welfare professionals learn of these kinds of violations directly from their interactions with families, children, young adults and parents. Learn about the signs of human trafficking, and the traumas that this social issue can induce, especially in the most vulnerable. Enhance your own practice framework through the inclusion of your insight into human trafficking.

This two-day conference features national, state, local experts, and thoughtful presentations and panel discussions, to provide licensed behavioral health clinicians, social workers and community providers with current information as well as efforts to identify victims and reduces incidences of human trafficking. Discussions will cover various types of trafficking (labor trafficking, sex trafficking, etc.), state, national and international statistics on trafficking, warning signs of human trafficking, websites of state and national programs, and legal and therapeutic interventions.
