Training Overview Description

The Trauma Stewardship Institute was founded in 2011 by Laura van Dernoot Lipsky, author of Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others and The Age of Overwhelm: Strategies for the Long Haul. Laura's workshops identify and challenge the cumulative toll on individuals, organizations, institutions, movements, communities, and society of exposure to suffering, hardship, crisis, or trauma. Laura facilitates conversations about system oppression and liberation theory so as to create a cross-disciplinary movement to decrease isolation and build critical mass toward sustainability in human services. Her workshop will define the trauma exposure response experienced by professionals and provide concrete tools to implement individual and collective resilience.
