This workshop will provide an overview of and an introduction to the conceptual framework and clinical implementation of Perinatal Child-Parent Psychotherapy, a trauma-informed, relationship-based treatment for expecting mothers and fathers with histories of trauma and adversity whose readiness to nurture a baby is compromised by traumatic stress and adverse life circumstances. Clinical examples will be provided to illustrate the phases of treatment and application of clinical modalities.
Dr. Lieberman is co-author of a new book, Make Room for Baby: Perinatal Psychotherapy to Repair Trauma and Promote Attachment that provides a framework for clinical interventions during the perinatal period.
