Training Overview Description
Learn Shaping Techniques using PORTL: The Portable Operant Research and Teaching Lab
Explore the principles of behavior within an interactive game. This course will consist of a series of shaping activities as we cover some of the foundational knowledge within behavior analysis. Shaping is a way to teach new skills using only reinforcement; no prompting. Unlike a traditional “rat lab,” these shaping activities will also allow the participant to experience shaping from the learner’s perspective. Strategies learned through this course can help individuals teach others new concepts and help support individuals with developmental disabilities.
