Training Overview Description

This webinar is an abbreviated course in “Buprenorphine 101.” It is well known that the role of healthcare and counseling professionals in the treatment of patients is profound. The goal of this interactive session is to enhance your professional knowledge surrounding outpatient based opioid treatment with Buprenorphine. Some of the topics covered include preparing patients for MAT with Buprenorphine, engaging patients in treatment, and connecting patients to resources. As a result of this session, attendees will increase their understanding of patient treatment challenges, understand their role in evolving the patient experience using strength-based approaches, and identify the benefits of combining counseling and Buprenorphine for long-term treatment success.

Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to describe office-based medication assisted treatment with Buprenorphine.

  • Participants will be able to restructure their role in evolving the patient experience with strength-based approaches.

  • Participants will be able to identify several benefits of combining counseling and Buprenorphine for long-term treatment success.

Content Level

Beginner and Intermediate.

Beginning level courses introduce learners to a content area; include information about a condition, treatment method, or issue; and involve learning and comprehending content.
Intermediate level courses provide information that builds on knowledge practitioners with some experience already have. These courses focus on skill-building or adding knowledge, possibly following a brief overview of basic information, and involve using information in concrete situations and understanding the underlying structure of the material.

Who Should Attend:

Addiction professionals, employee assistance professionals, social workers, mental health counselors, professional counselors, psychologists, and other helping professionals that are interested in learning about addiction-related matters.
