Training Overview Description

This course is intended to provide accessible tools for all levels of behavioral health professionals. The curriculum will help participants identify

  1. when a crisis is occurring

  2. goals of crisis intervention

  3. common traits of someone who is suicidal.

We will also discuss ways to conduct a conversation with someone who is in crisis and/or considering suicide, and ways to assess for suicide risk. Instruction will be highly interactive and include didactic and interactive portions.

This training could be applied to multiple areas of the Alaska Qualified Addictions Professional (QAP) certification.
