Training Overview Description

If you are a supervising a Peer Support Specialist or Recovery Coach, you need to understand the unique discipline of the Peer Support role. We don’t hire peers as junior case managers, errand persons, drivers or clinicians-in-training. Rather, we hire them for their empowerment skills, support expertise, courage and lived experience. For all those who are in a supporting role to Peer Support Professionals, this 8-hour training includes the history, evidence base, and basic a-b-c-s of Peer Support.

This 8-hour course addresses the complexity of issues including roles, ethics, qualification and practice.

Presenters: Susan Musante, MS, LPCC. founder of Recovery and Rehabilitation Resources. Spencer Ladner, and Lee Breinig, BS, CDC1 - known for their work in Peer Support and developing recovery-oriented services in Alaska.
