Training Overview Description

This training is recommended for Community Rehab Providers seeking to add service option with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, as well as, people with disabilities and their families.

Self-employment is a recognized and viable alternative for people with disabilities who want to work.

In this 2-session, 4-hour class, you will learn:

  • What is self employment?
  • Who is a good candidate?
  • Funding opportunities
  • Business Plan Basics
  • Business Foundation Basics

You will receive principles and tools for establishing a successful business, including the concept of business feasibility and the components of business plans. Instances of successful self-employment will be highlighted, using PowerPoint and video interviews.

Event-specific Details

CHD eLearning Portal - Training Materials, Zoom Connection, Training Evaluation, and Certificate of Attendance. All participants are encouraged to access the CHD eLearning Portal, https://ttclms.remote-learner.net in order to review training materials and access the Zoom link prior to the training. The eLearning Portal is only available after completing your registration and payment. After the training, use the eLearning Portal to complete the training evaluation and access your Certificate of Attendance.

Registration Information

Web Meeting Information. This training will be delivered as a live, interactive web meeting using Zoom. You must prepare for the webinar prior to the day of the training. Web meeting connection information is available in the CHD e-Learning Portal after your registration and payment are processed. You must be logged into Zoom and prepared with a camera and microphone (or a headset) prior to the start of training.

Please plan to log into the Zoom meeting 15-20 minutes before the training start time.

Using Zoom. Zoom can be used on a PC or Mac, laptop, IPad, tablet or smart phone and requires an Internet connection, a microphone and a camera (most devices have a built-in mic and camera).
