The ASAM criteria is a widely used set of guidelines used to determine levels of care in people with addiction and co-occurring conditions. The ASAM Criteria offer a strengths-based, multidimensional approach to assessment, and considers the client’s needs, obstacles, and liabilities, as well as their strengths, assets, resources and support structure.
In this training, an overview of what the six ASAM dimensions are, and how to use them to help determine the appropriate level of care.

About the Presenter
Anna Sappah, Psy.D, CDC I is currently serving as the Clinical Supervisor and Continuing Care Coordinator for Recovery Services at Wisdom Traditions in Anchorage, Alaska. Dr. Sappah has previously served on the Governor’s Advisory Board for Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Trust Training Cooperative and RADACT’s advisory board, and Board of Directors for Center for Drug Problems. Dr. Sappah’s clinical focus is providing therapeutic services to patients with co-occurring SUD and MH disorders, including trauma.

To locate the Zoom connection and all training materials, all participants are required to access the CDH e-Learning Portal, https://ttclms.remote-learner.net, in order to review training materials prior to the training. After the training, use the e-Learning Portal to complete the training evaluation which is required for CEs. To receive a certificate that confirms your attendance, you must complete the training evaluation within 30 days of the event. Log in with the same username (username or email address) and password used to register for the training.
